Does it handle counts as well as measurements?

Yes. Where a drawing carries a legend, symbols are counted per sheet with each instance marked, which covers penetrations, vents, whirlybirds and similar items.

Roofing quotes mix measured quantities with counted ones. Sheets and flashings are measured. Penetrations, roof vents, whirlybirds, skylights and safety anchors are counted.

Where the drawing defines those items in a legend, they are counted across the sheets with every instance recorded and marked, so you can check the count against the drawing rather than take it on trust.

Which suppliers can it price against?

Rignite prices against your own accounts and negotiated rates. Lysaght, Stratco, Fielders, Metroll or whichever roll former and supplier you actually buy through.

Sheet and accessory pricing is account specific, and it moves. A quote written off last quarter's rates is a quote that quietly costs you.

The system runs on your suppliers and your pricing rather than a national catalogue. Where a price is missing, the RFQ is drafted, sent and chased, and the reply lands back against the line it belongs to. Subcontractor rates sit alongside materials so labour is in the same estimate.

How does it handle the parts you cannot see from the drawing?

Battens, existing structure and access conditions are stated as allowances, exclusions or provisional sums on the quote rather than assumed into a rate.

Roofing has more unknowns than most trades until you are on the roof. Batten condition, existing structure, asbestos, access and fall protection are all things a drawing will not tell you.

Because the scope is generated from what was measured, those items appear as stated exclusions or provisional sums rather than being buried inside a square metre rate. Writing them down at quote time is what stops them becoming an argument once the old roof is off.
